All you need to know about your Ballet Classes
Below is our list of frequently asked questions so you can know what to expect and are prepared for your first class and your future as a dancer with Hughson Ballet.
Class Preparations: What to Wear
Primary Level Ballet
All female dancers are to wear lilac skirted leotard, white socks, and pink full sole leather ballet shoes.
All male dancers are to wear white t-shirts, black shorts, white socks, and white full sole leather ballet shoes.
Level 1 Ballet
All female dancers are to wear pink skirted leotard, white socks, and pink full sole leather ballet shoes.
10+ female dancers are to wear pink leotard, pink tights, and pink full sole leather ballet shoes.
All male dancers are to wear white t-shirts, black tights, white socks ,and white full sole leather ballet shoes.
Level 2 Ballet
All female dancers are to wear pacific blue leotard, pink footed tights, and pink split sole leather ballet shoes.
All male dancers are to wear white t-shirts, black tights, white socks, and white full sole leather ballet shoes.
Level 3 Ballet
All female dancers are to wear lilac leotard, pink convertible tights and pink split sole leather ballet shoes.

Level 4 Ballet
All female dancers are to wear French blue tank leotard or French blue camisole leotard, pink convertible tights, and pink split sole leather ballet shoes.

Level 5 Ballet
All female dancers are to wear fuchsia tank leotard or fuchsia camisole leotard, pink convertible tights, and pink split sole leather ballet shoes.

Level 6 Ballet
All female dancers are to wear navy tank leotard or navy camisole leotard, pink convertible tights, and pink split sole leather ballet shoes.

Level 7 Ballet
All female dancers are to wear burgundy tank leotard or burgundy camisole leotard, pink convertible tights, and pink split sole leather ballet shoes.

Level 8-10 Ballet
All female dancers are to wear black tank leotard or black camisole leotard, pink convertible tights, and pink split sole leather ballet shoes.

Adult Ballet
All dancers are welcome to wear whatever they feel comfortable in. This can be a leotard and tights or a tank top and leggings, as long as its form fitting to help correct lines and body placement. Coverups are acceptable as well.

Why we have a uniform based on Levels
Hughson Ballet's uniform is set so that the instructors can easily identify a dancer's level in class along with being able to see the dancer's body alignment to make any necessary corrections. Having a uniform look amongst the dancers allows for more attention to detail from instructors and no distractions. This provides the best learning and teaching environment.
